The late Leona Helmsley’s dog Trouble, might be in a bit of trouble herself. On the scene correspondent Steve (thank you Steve for your reporting in on this) wrote me today indicating that Trouble, the dog heiress to $12 million, has been targeted with death threats and is presently hiding out in Florida. The NY Post reports that, under an assumed name, Trouble was flown by private jet to Florida after receiving approximately 20 death threats. “John Codey, who manages the dog’s trust fund, told US television network CBS last week the cost of Trouble’s security, medical care, chef-cooked meals and grooming was about $300,000 (£145,000) a year.” This is a scandalabra! Totally turning in her grave…

If you are looking for that extra something for that special someone for the holidays how about some “eau de chien?” And, if you can’t make up your mind, this handy guide on how to choose good dog colognes might help.

With the holiday season upon us, small dog thievery has become an epidemic. In Ada County, Idaho, over the past 10 days, 6 Yorkshire terriers have turned up missing!

Speaking of 6…a 6 pawed puppy has turned up in Hong Kong. He was due to be destroyed until a vet rescued him. Nicknamed, the octopus, the pup will undergo surgery to remove the extra paws. The Hong Kong Dog Rescue is looking for someone to adopt him once the surgery is complete. I’ll take an octodog and make it snappy!

The music biz have so much free time and expendable cash on their hands that they decided to make a disc that’s music to dog’s ears. The track entitled, A Very Silent Night, “was recorded as an SPCA fundraiser at the highest frequency possible on CD, so only dogs can hear it…The single, which has been picked up by Universal and was released yesterday, will be accompanied by a music video – styled on Snoop Dogg’s Drop It Like It’s Hot and Scribe’s Not Many – featuring rapper Dei Hamo, who plays Santa. The video, with 14 dogs and models dressed as elves, is also inaudible to humans with subtitles asking viewers to buy the CD “so they don’t end up in the dog house.” Absolute genius.

I’ll drink to that:

    Dear SD,

Do you think the 6 paw dog will ever join the Not So Silent Night Orchestra? If so, how much will tickets cost?

    Best regards,
    Stephanie

I’m wondering how sick a person would have to be to send a death threat to a tiny white dog.

Amazing. I’m so relieved that someone FINALLY has released an album that only dogs can hear…this has been an oversight of the music industry for far too long. Thanks to SD for reporting on this crucial development.

    Dear SD/Dear six pawed dog,
Does this ring any bells:”Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die”.
    That’s what I thought…

Sounds like a cute video and the CD sales are for a good cause, I just might pick up a copy for my two dogs.
